Lust vs. Love…Do you Know the Difference?

What is Lust? What is Love? Are they the same?
No, they’re very different. But how can we tell the difference?

Read this list and see where your definition of love or lust lies. If there’s some confusion, I hope this helps you see the truth.
So how did you do? Did you find that you might have to rethink your definition of love or lust? I know I did. First Corinthians 13 says it like this:

LUST…

Lust sees the physical
Lust demands attention
Lust is easily moved
Lust is prideful
Lust is guarded
Lust is easy
Lust is bondage
Lust has ulterior motives
Lust is self-seeking
Lust doesn’t compromise
Lust is unwise
Lust arouses the senses
Lust demands to be fed
Lust leads to death
Lust severs
Lust wounds
Lust is impulsive
Lust is undisciplined
Lust is always free
Lust is kept in darkness
Lust is like coal
Lust is carefree
Lust is disrespectful
Lust is blind
Lust daydreams

…LOVE
Love sees the heart
Love is sought after
Love is grounded
Love is humble
Love is vulnerable
Love is hard
Love is freedom
Love has no agenda
Love demands self-sacrifice
Love is full of compromises
Love exudes wisdom
Love arouses the spirit
Love will go without
Love is life
Love binds
Love heals
Love uses discernment
Love has boundaries
Love has a cost
Love is light
Love becomes a diamond
Love has standards
Love respects
Love sees clearly
Love casts visions

So how did you do? Did you find that you might have to rethink your definition of love or lust? I know I did. First Corinthians 13 says it like this:

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”
