The Art of Rejection: Part 2

There have been times when I was afraid to ask God for things because I was afraid of Him rejecting my wishes and desires. Sometimes I wouldn’t even bother praying about something that was frustrating me because I didn’t think God was going to care or that He would even want to do anything about it.
When we continue in the art of rejection, not only do we reject others, we also reject God.
Our mistrust of others causes us to mistrust God. Sometimes mistrust in ourselves causes us to mistrust God. Rejection doesn’t just affect the individual, it affects everything and everyone around us.
Maybe you’ve wondered why it’s difficult for you to trust people. As women, there could’ve been an important male figure who has let you down several times, so by default you think God will do the same thing. For men, it could definitely be the same thing. But overall, when people let us down, it’s difficult to trust. But God will never leave you, nor forsake you says Hebrews 13:5. To forsake is to reject and that is something God will not do.
He says that we can “boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16).
